When people think of the most magical place on Earth, the last thought that comes to mind is terrifying. Over time people have become more and more daring. Wanting to ride the tallest, the fastest, and the scariest rides there are. To accommodate this demand for thrills and chills, Disney has developed some of the most engaging thrill rides of our time. I have managed to narrow there thrilling rides down to 5. Here are the top 5 thrilling rides at Walt Disney World.
5. Test Track at Epcot. During this ride, you are the dummy in an automobile testing facility. The car really puts you through your paces as it zooms and swerves down the length of road. Nearing the end of the ride you are thrust through the building on to a racing track. Test Tracks fast pace and surprise give it the number 5 on my countdown.
4. Space Mountain at the Magic Kingdom. A classic ride at Walt Disney World. When it was first built it surpassed all thrill rides. To this day, it still remains one of the most thrilling at Disney World. The roller coaster is completely in doors. The darkness adds to the creepy quality of the ride. Unlike most roller coasters, this ride is one-seated. The ride is very bumpy and you turn a lot. The sudden turns and ups and downs are what makes this ride thrilling. And the pitch darkness is what makes it number 4 on my countdown.
3. Expedition Everest at the Animal Kingdom. This ride is one of the most recently added. It was added to appease the thrill seekers. Like all Disney rides this one is themed. The concept is that you are taking a tour to Mt. Everest, but on your way you are thwarted by the Yeti. Not only is Expedition Everest fast, but it is the highest roller coaster in Disney World. For those of you who enjoy heights and speed, will understand why I made this number 3 on my countdown.
2. Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith at Hollywood Studios. Aerosmith are legends of rock. So, it comes as no surprise why Disney chose to model a ride after them. Unlike other indoor roller coasters, this one has its own theme music. Aerosmith music plays as you turn upside down and zoom through the ride. This roller coaster exceeds all others with its music and wild thrills. The music says it all making it number 2 on my countdown.
1. Twilight Zone Tower of Terror at Hollywood Studios. Based off of the famous television show, this ride is nothing short of terrifying. You are transported through time the moment you enter this ghostly hotel. You are greeted by a bell hop and taken to the elevator. Once in the elevator you are in for a 13 story drop. The ride is not done with you yet it drops you over and over again. A new feature was added to ensure you never get the same ride. The dropping is at complete random. The 13 story drop is why I made this number 1 on my countdown.
Next time you think of the most magical place on Earth, think again. It is one of the most scary places on earth. From its terrifying spirals into darkness to its elevators from the out reaches of space and time. Disney World is more than a fun place for the kiddies.
